New Forest District Council insisted on a controlled rate of discharge from a rainwater attenuation tank, the overflow will run to a gravel verge running alongside a single track road and naturally permeate away. The site was designed with three chambers, which were constructed with weir walls. However, the accumulative volume of water passing over the weir walls would have meant a greater volume of water than what would permeate away naturally in the verge.
A number of the Flexseal team worked on this project to supply the contractor with HDPE orifice plates to install into each chamber with orifices of either 38 or 50mm. Flexseal specified HDPE as it’s extremely strong yet lightweight, making it easy to install; HDPE orifice plates are also maintenance free. A Flexseal Area Sales Manager visited the site to offer product support to the team installing the orifice plate.
On the day of the visit it rained giving Flexseal and the contractor an opportunity to inspect the system in operation, to which it received a thumbs up by all. Flexseal were commended for providing a solution swiftly that meets the demands of the local governing authority.
